Developing EBDI agents

BDI (Belief Desire Intention) cognitive framework has become a popular tool to design intelligent agents. Particularly, EBDI (Emotional BDI) agents have emerged strongly in the last years. Its affective modeling usually includes emotions, mood, personality and also some affective capacities. Despite this, there are affective aspects that are not considered when modeling affection and a proposal...

From autistic to social agents

The theory, models and architectures of intelligent agents are based loosely on the theory of intentions from Bratman resulting in the so-called BDI agents. Although this functions well for single agents it has been long recognized that this approach falls short for multi-agent systems. It lacks appropriate social aspects to make natural interaction possible. The original concept for intelligen...

A Multi-Formalism Modeling Framework: Formal Definitions, Model Composition and Solution Strategies

In this paper, we present a multi-formalism modeling framework (abbreviated by MFMF) for modeling and simulation. The proposed framework is defined based on the concepts of meta-models and uses object-orientation to overcome the complexities and to enhance the extensibility. The framework can be used as a basis for modeling by various formalisms and to support model composition in a unified man...
